I am sorry to hear you have experienced some bleeding since your cervical screening test.

Unfortunately this can sometimes occur especially as you mention your cervix looked red on examination. Sometimes it can appear red because of something called an ectropian, this is where the glandular cells ( that are red in colour) inside of the cervical canal travel to the outside of the cervix, there is more information you may wish to read about this here.

An ectropian isn't serious but can sometimes bleed or cause a discharge, however if the bleeding continues or you notice any other changes let your doctor know so they can assess you.
