Is this good news or should I still be concerned?

Hi,

I was anemic and had some blood found in stools. I have noticed a slight change in bowl habits recently and get quite a bloated stomach from time to time. I went for a colonoscopy and was told they found a tumour/ lesion of about 2cm which they wasn't happy with. They took biopsies and said I would get a CT and MRI appointment through.
This was around 3 weeks ago... I've had the CT scan last week and MRI is booked for Monday. I've just had someone from the hospital call to say they are booking me in to have polyps removed the end of the month. No other news. Seems the MRI is still going ahead. I don't know if this is good news or not? As I'm having the MRI still is it likely the biopsies were cancerous?

  • Hello there and thanks for posting

I'm sorry you are currently undergoing some tests and appreciate times of uncertainty like this can be difficult.

Unfortunately no one here can say what is going on and it really is only the doctor from the hospital who can tell you what the results have shown and the plan of action moving forward.

Sit tight for now as the doctor may be wanting all the information of all the different tests and scans before speaking with you.

Keeping busy can help a little to pass the time but it is all bound to be a worry for you.

Do keep us updated and get back in touch if you would like to. Our helpline is open weekdays 9-5 on 0808 800 4040.

    All the best

    Naomi
