Swelling in tummy

Hi there I have been suffering alot swelling in tummy for few years now previously been told due to ibs recently I had been admitted to hospital which x-ray showed my intestines were full of poo  relaesed from hospital and given laxido last week had pelvic ultrasound scan the lady said everything seems ok  but now received letter for appointment for gynaecologist is there something to worry about I am at witts end

    I am sorry to hear about your situation and the worry it is causing you.

    Having an appointment with the gynaecology team does not mean that there is necessarily anything serious going on.  Women can be referred for many reasons and not just for cancer.

    I am afraid it is all about waiting to be seen.  So I hope you know more about what is the matter soon.
