    Guess not...

  • Bloody hell!

Yeah I hope so - sorry to hear your having a bad time with it.

Have you had MRI and CT as well?

  • Hello and thank you for your post.

I am very sorry to hear about the pain you have following a tongue biopsy.

I think if you are worried about how this is going that you do check it out with the team caring for you or your GP. If you are very worried you could also call the NHS on 111 for advice. You may have also been given some written advice from the hospital about what to do about pain and swallowing.

Take regular pain relief, sip fluids (milk shakes and soup) and if and when you are ready start taking soft foods, little and often.  The thing is if you are worried about swallowing then it will be more difficult to do it. So be mindful that some healing will have taken place and you should feel improvements as the days go by. You may also have a follow up appointment coming up where you will be checked out.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
