It might be a good idea to book a GP appointment to go over the results of the ultrasound scan you had. Then you could ask your GP about your throat. I'm afraid that we cannot tell you if it was looked at.

Let your GP know that your throat is still bothering you. While I cannot tell you if there is anything to be worried about I do know that gastric irritation (when acid leaks up for the stomach) can cause the throat symptoms you have. Perhaps ask your GP if it is possible.

I'm in a somewhat similar boat to yourself, I'm 33 and I discovered a number of lumps in my neck but my journey started with one on my lower internal gums. My dentist urgently referred me to ENT, needless to say it was a pretty poor experience, but an ultrasound was referred which subsequently got downgraded to routine.

I had a private ultrasound which showed comparisons to reactive lymph nodes, big tick, nothing sinister like a solid cancer. BUT still no answers as to why it's raised.

Continued through my GP, blood tests all okay, chest x-ray clear. BUT still no reason for the lymph nodes being raised.

I'm keeping a daily log of symptoms, so I can feed good information to the GP. I've since found other raised nodes in my groin.

I don't quite buy this approach of "they may have been because of an infection and never went down". All websites, including the NHS, would say that any lump over 4 to 6 weeks should be examined. NICE guidelines would recommend a referral pathway for this also.

At the end of the day, if there is a chance of something like Lymphoma, CT Scans should be done as a matter of course, with a biopsy as a diagnostic route if the CT scan was to show anything.

That's how I'm hoping to proceed anyway, sometimes you can "just tell" something isn't right. BUT getting the support and ear of the NHS is difficult as they're going through such a rocky time. Really they should be trying to rule out anything, as if things were to progress then patients would ultimately consume more resource and investment in the future.

In terms of whether your ultrasound would pick up something in your throat, I don't know. But I was told at mine that ultrasounds do have limitations, for example the lump in my mouth wouldn't be picked up even taking an angle from under my chin.
