Labia cysts- please help!

About 2 years ago I got a large, hard lump on my vagina/labia. I saw a doctor about it and he said it was a bath on insisting it might never go away really alarmed me anyways, I’m believe that one did go. Then probably maybe a year ago or a bit more Adam protective sex casually lumps on my labia, which really lame particularly customers and felt like they were gonna lie. I went to a sexual health clinic, and the nurse said that they have never seen that many and even got another clinician to look. I was told that they were sebaceous cysts. I might stay around long-term this really knocked my confidence and affected my mental health and have an impact on my relationships, and I have kind of overcome and got used to the lumps. I’m sorry if this is not the relevant place to ask this question, but I just wondered if anybody had experienced sebaceous cysts of the labia that fluctuate? The reason I am asking here is because mine seems much bigger/there seems to be more, and it’s sore. I don’t know if this is normal? It makes me worry about more serious things like cancer and shared experiences would be really helpful thank you.

  • Hello there

I am sorry to hear you have re-occurring cysts and appreciate how having these can get you down.

Sebaceous and Bartholin cysts here are common and many people experience these at some point in their life. Unfortunately they can come and go and sometimes do become large and uncomfortable. Occasionally they can become infected so if they are causing you pain and discomfort I would get them looked at in case they need treating or antibiotics.

Try and remember most symptoms have another reason other than cancer but if you are concerned always speak with your GP.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
