To start at the beginning, I had minor spotting in December 2021. I got my smear test letter through in January 2022 after getting me smear my results came back high risk HPV and mild cell changes. I was told I would wait 40 weeks for a colposcopy appointment. 42 weeks later still no appointment. I phoned my dr and they got me in for another smear. This time my results came back as severe cells changes and high risk HPV. 10 further weeks after this I got my colposcopy. They decided to treat me there and then with LEEP. The first week after I had no bleeding but the next 3 weeks that followed I had relatively low level of blood changing less than every four hours. I could tell this blood was different compared to period blood as it was thin watery and fresh. I then had my period which was usual for me. After my period stopped it seemed like I was at the end of my healing. This was now week 4 which was the time frame I was given for recovery to be complete. I was relived it was over until 2 days later blood started pouring out me like a tap. When ever I stood up massive clots the sive of the palm of my hand were coming out of me. I phoned nhs 24 and they told me to make my way straight to the emergency room. Where I was hooked up to ecg and fluids within 10 minutes. The blood just wasn't stopping but I knew I was in the right place. I was taken to gynaecology where they examined me and put a paste called Monsels paste on my cervix which thankfully stopped the bleeding as the alternative treatment was packing the wound and a catheter (which sounded awful to me) I am now home and resting. When I was being examined the gyn said she couldn't see any active vessels so I am confused how I was bleeding so much and why the paste worked instantly if there wasn't an active vessel has anyone else had this before? Did you find out why you were bleeding so much?
