Vaginal discharge and bleeding after opening bowels

Hi I am on dianette contraceptive pill and  had a lettz procedure done last November due to cin1 cin2 and cin3 abnormal cells. I bled for 4 weeks continuelesly I went to hospital routine bloods were fine but as a precaution gave me antibiotics. I have been expericing pelvic and abdo pain and pain in my bladder (no uti) which wakes me up during the night it radiates down to my legs (it's a sharp stinging burning type pain) I had a ct scan done in December which shown my lymph nodes in my groin had grown by 1cm but no sign of infection. I have also been tested for stis I am all clear. Fast forward to beginning of January this year I was admitted to hospital with severe pelvic pain going right around to the back. blood shown raised inflammatory markers and I was given antibiotics despite high vaginal swab being clear of infection. The past 4 weeks every time I empty my bowels I'm passing brown gunk from my vagina sometimes pink. I can't walk for long without ending up in pain with my pelvis and begin having a bit of a bleed same with even picking my 3 year old son up it triggers it off. I have lost weight recently. I am under gyne already for other issues (suspected adenomyosis, pelvic congestion and sometimes small cysts)  and I'm due to see them next week. Yesterday my gp did a pelvic exam (which so agonisingly painful) they were really concerned and saw the gunk that's coming out of me and sent me straight to the hospital but the Dr after only dipping my urine (found protein no uti) send me on my way no further tests nothing. Accepting its abnormal but just said well ill see my consultant soon anyway. I'm so scared I lost my sister through cancer last year only a few years older than myself I'm terrified. Sorry for the long message but has anyone else had this? What did it turn out to be xx

  • Hello

What a very difficult time you have been going through, it all must be extremely distressing for you.  Given what happened to your sister this all must be especially upsetting.  It is good to read that you are under the care of a gynaecologist and I would encourage you to tell them all about this when you see them next week.  One of the problems of coming on a forum like this when you have not been diagnosed with cancer,  is that it is a cancer forum, so most of the people who stay on here have been diagnosed with cancer.   So asking what happened to people on here will not tell you what is happening for you and will keep cancer front of mind for you when there might be another explanation for your symptoms.

So make sure you keep your appointment to see the gynaecologist and if anything gets worse in the meantime tell yout GP.  It might be a good idea to tell them what happened when they sent you to the hospital to see whether they are sattisfied with the approach that was taken by the doctor there.

I hope you get some answers soon.

    Take care

    Martin
