Can anyone help please, I'm 33 and had chemo in 2021 - 12 paclitaxel, 4 carboplatin, 4 EC incase this helps. I haven't had a period since May 21 and just wanted to know whether its likely they'll ever come back.
Any help is appreciated! :)

Hello and thanks for your post,
Everyone's periods are affected in different ways depending on treatment and the age that they received it. Breast Cancer Now say in the information that the younger someone is (under 35) the more likely it is that their periods will return. You can see their information here
If you are being followed up by your oncologist it would be worth talking to them about this and perhaps ask to be referred to a fertility clinic if that is something that you would like to do.
We also have some information on our website about fertility and breastcancer treatment which you can see here
If you are still in touch with your breast care nurse you could also discuss this with them. You could also talk this through with your GP.
I do hope that some of these links will be helpful. You are more then welcome to give us a ring to discuss this with one of the helpline nurses.
Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040.
All the very best,
Catherine
Hi, I had breast cancer first when I was 29, and then again when I was 30/31 and again at 33, I had a docetaxol, carboplatin, paclitaxol and EC. My periods completely stopped for well over a year, I was getting hot flashes, and going through early menopause. Which I thought would be the end of my periods. How wrong I was, my period came back over a year later. I know everyone is different and they can completely stop. x
