I am sorry to learn what has happened and can understand that 'not knowing' makes this a challenging time. 

I think you need to try and keep more of an open mind about what might be the matter. Although the doctor has seen something, I would expect there to be other possible explanations aside from cancer. However until you are given a firm diagnosis I can appreciate it will be difficult not to worry.

Do your best not to let your mind dwell on worst case scenarios - and try not to spend too much time looking things up online as this takes most people around in circles without being much the wiser and can make you more fretful. 

Occupation/distraction can help so try and have a plan to keep yourself busy for now.
