Itching!

Hi, I have been feeling worried with my symptoms and would like some advice please. 
I've had all over itching, mostly back of scalp, back and chest for the past 3 months, with no obvious cause or rash. I had a blood test a couple of weeks ago which came back normal. I have been slightly chesty past week. 
The itching seems to wear off when I'm active-walking/exercising but becomes unbearable when resting.

Ive been taking antihistamines and using itch relief creams, nothing works.

I can't feel any lumps.

Whats the likely hood it could be cancer?

    I am sorry to learn about this itching and can appreciate how bothersome it must be.

    Persistent generalised itching can sometimes be linked to a few types of cancer but it can occur for a number of other reasons too, I don't know if cancer is any more likely than anything else and I expect there are times when no explanation can be found. However I do think it is reasonable to see your GP about this again and ask for a review. 

    Often doctors do tests to try and rule out the main culprits for a particular symptom. It might help if you could ask about this and where things stand at the moment. If they have nothing more to suggest, you could ask if you can be referred to a specialist.
