I am sorry to hear about the symptoms that you are experiencing. We can't diagnose anyone on the helpline but it does sound like you are being checked by the GP.  I am sure that if they felt you needed further investigations they would arrange them for you. There are so many conditions other then cancer that people can get so try not to overthink it for now.

If the spots are still present then your GP may suggest doing a swab if they think that it may be bacterial instead. NHS have written some information on tonsillitis which you might find helpful to read. Have a look here

Until you see the GP on Friday try and get some rest and drink plenty of fluid. If you are getting any discomfort then do speak to a pharmacist at your local chemist who may have suggestions as to what can ease your discomfort.

GP's are used to diagnosing tonsillitis but do let them know about your concerns so hopefully they can help put your mind at rest.
