Lesion on liver and endometrial polyp

I've been going through tests for other health issues and a chest CT scan flagged up a problem in my liver, I had an ultrasound and they said it's a 13mm lesion in my liver needs further investigation so I'm being referred for MRI, I have also been told they have found an endometrial polyp (found on another scan)

I am terrified this means I have cancer and it's already spread. I am only 33 and have 2 beautiful daughters aged 9 and 5 I am so scared don't really know what I'm looking to achieve by posting but hoping someone has been through the same as me and it's been nothing to worry about

  • Hello there

I appreciate this  must be an anxious time for you but try not to over think things too much for now.

Whilst I can understand you wanting to hear others stories do remember everyone is different. There can be a number of reasons for symptoms or findings on scans and not all will be something as serious as cancer.

At your age any cancer would be unlikely and these 2 findings are probably not related.

Liver lesions are common and often found incidentally that are the result of a benign ( non cancer) cause that you can read more about here.

Likewise endometrial polyps are also common growth of tissue and are also often benign. Your doctor may wish to refer you on for further tests or assessment but even so it doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister is going on.

Avoid googling as this can cause more worry than help and so speak to your own doctor when possible who hopefully can put your mind at ease.

    Wishing you all the best

    Take care

    Naomi
