High grade dyskarosis and symptoms

Hi

I had a phonecall from the hospital yesterday 2 weeksnafter my smear to so say i have high grade dyskarosis and i need to be seen as a priority, i am booked in for a colposcopy next week. Its all happened so quick. I am worrying myself to death as aswell as this i have been havin a foul smell/watery discharge, and a sudden urge to pee that i can not hold when it comes on i HAVE to go. I have never had any problems with my bladder before. I have been tested for stis, infection ect and everything has come back clear.

This along with my smear is pancing me. Had anybody else had these symptoms AND high grade dyskarosis and what was the outcome?

Thabks so much from a worried mummy

  • Hey! I just got a call yesterday also from the hospital that I am HPV positive and have high grade dyskarosis. I have managed to get an appointment tomorrow for a colposcopy. It's my wedding in just over a week ... it's horrible the wait and not knowing what's actually going on. I hope your appointment goes well and somebody can give you some outlook on the symptoms you have. I'll be thinking about yoh !!!

  • Hello

I'm having a colposcopy today, post menopausal bleeding.

Took my anxiety medication this morning.

    Wishing you both well x

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I'm so sorry that this is causing you to worry but, I'm afraid it is until you have had your colposcopy that you will know more about your situation. You can read more about having an abnormal smear result and a visit to a colposcopy clinic on our website here

Don't forget to tell the nurse or doctor doing your colposcopy about your symptoms, although they might not be related as having abnormal cervical cells doesn't usually cause any symptoms.

It's good to hear that you have attended your NHS cervical screening programme appointment as this can help reduce the risk of cervical cancer ever happening.

I hope it all goes well for you. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
