Swollen Lymph Node

Hi,

i haven't seen any new posts on here lately but I'm in need of some reassurance/advice on what's been going on lately.

for the last 4 months my lymph nodes have been up on the right side of my neck, my doctor put me as a "safety net" and I have had a neck ultrasound he said it is less than 5mm so "he is not concerned" I have had bloods done multiple times and they have come back each time with high white blood count and a few other abnormalities. Since these tests I have had a abdominal ultrasound and the result was "borderline" my lymph nodes are still up in my neck and the lump is small and movable from side to side. My symptoms have been headaches, itching, cold sweats, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath etc. my blood tests have been cleared of me having any infections I am just very anxious about what this could be. If you have any advice I would be very grateful as this has been going on a while now.

  • Hello

It can be a worry to have symptoms that are ongoing and unexplained but unfortunately no one here can say what may be going on for you.

You have done the right thing seeing your GP and it sounds like they have run the most appropriate tests to find out more. Nothing of concern has shown up so this should be a reassuring for you.

Symptoms can have many causes and most won't be the result of anything as serious as a cancer. Lymph nodes are often raised because of a recent or past infection and can remain swollen for some time after.

Of course do let your GP know if the symptoms continue or you notice an increase in size to the lymph nodes so they can reassess you.

    Take care

    Naomi
