What a shock that must have been for you.  It is very difficult in situations like that knowing what questions to ask to help you understand things.  They probably will need to get the results of the MRI before they can give you much detailed information and a treatment plan, but in the meantime we have information about meningioma on our website here .  Usually they are benign and do not spread.  

It might also be helpful to contact The Brain Tumour Charity  they also have information on their website about meningiomas, an information pack that you can request and a helpline focused specifically on brain tumours.
