Anxiously Waiting

I have recently been diagnosed with a grade 1B melanoma and have had more tissue removed and a sentinal node biopsy. I am still waiting on my results and as the weeks go by I am getting more anxious. I feel that I cannot make any plans as I do not know what the future holds. I had stayed away from Google but find myself searching for answers. I know this isn't helping but just feel so unsure of what to expect.

  • Hello MSMJM and thanks for posting

I'm sorry to hear you are waiting for results and appreciate what an agonising time this can be for people.

Until you find out what may or may not need to happen next it is only natural to feel like you can't plan or get on as usual with life but unfortunately google cannot tell you what is going to happen with you.

Do call up the hospital if you haven't already to ask when the results may be in and let them know how you are feeling.

I do hope you have the support of friends and family around you to support you at this time.

Do get back if you have more questions or if you think it would help give us a call on 0808 800 4040, we're here weekdays 9-5.

I wish you all the best

    Take care

    Naomi

  • Thank you Naomi for replying. I have text my nurse today so hopefully will get a better idea soon.

  • Hi,

I know how waiting for results is the worst part of a diagnosis - at least once you have the results you have a better idea of what happens next. I have sent you a friend request so that, if you want to chat, we can do so by private message.

I hope you aren't waiting too much longer and that your results bring you good news.

Angie (Stage 3 melanoma patient since 2009)
