I had a lumpectomy, chemo an radiotherapy, almost 3 years ago, TNBC, I'm due a mammogram next month, if there is a reoccurrence, would I be offered a mastectomy?

Hello there and thanks for posting
I am sorry to hear you were previously treated for breast cancer.
I appreciate that awaiting follow up scans after cancer can be an anxious time with the fear that the cancer may have returned but do remember for many people this won't be the case.
Of course none of us can say what the mammogram will or won't show so try not to over think things too much for now.
If and when a cancer does return the treatment needed will vary as it will depend on the location, size and extent of the cancer recurrence and any previous treatments received.
A mastectomy won't always be needed with a recurrence but the specialist doctor will always discuss the best treatment plan with the patient if and when this is required.
I hope the mammogram goes well and that everything is okay. If you have concerns about what you can feel or with your general health do talk this through with your doctor so they can assess you properly.
Take care
Naomi
