Worrying Lump/Vein on right side of right testicle

Hi there,

Recently my right testicle has just felt a little off, after examination I noticed that on the right side closest to my thigh there was an extra lump of skin that contained little strings/worm type feel inside of it. On my left testicle this is nowhere to be found, but when I feel inside this part of skin it is evident that it is not my testicle but a stringy/wormy/veiny type feeling. I have showered and also checked again whilst they are relaxed and it is very clear. The whole area is bumpy and I am unable to feel my testicle from this side.

I am obviously very worried, I am 21 years old also.

Any help would be extremely useful, Thanks.

  • Hello and thank you for your enquiry. I was sorry to read that you are worried about your testicle.

We always advise that when you have concerns about your testicle, to make an appointment with your GP who can advise you further, and hopefully reassure you. They will refer you for an ultrasound scan if they think this is necessary.

Most testicle lumps and bumps are easily explained, and are not anything serious. Testicular cancer is in fact very uncommon.

There is some useful information on the NHS websites on what testicles should feel and look like here

    www.nhs.uk/.../

and there is information on testicle lumps and swellings at this link

I hope you find this helpful.

    Kind regards,

    Vanda
