Letrozole

I have been taking letrozole for a month and have had no side effects but today my body feels shivery like I am going to get a cold. I haven't been round anybody and have kept myself quite isolated after the the surgery I had on the 28th of December so I would be surprised if it is a cold. I had a lumpectomy for DCIS and 2 nodes removed for testing. It feels like cold water running through my body. I am eating and drinking ok. Wonder if anyone else has had this because I'm wondering if it is a side effect.

  • Hello and thank you for posting.

I'm sorry you are having these problems post your surgery. I think it would be good to contact your Breast care nurse or hospital team and let them know how you are feeling. Just in case they want to assess you. Its good to also check the wound area for signs of any redness or swelling.

Letrozole, because it is a hormone treatment, does have many side affects. I've posted a link to information on it here.

Take care and please get back to us if you need any more information or support. Our helpline number is Freephone 0808 800 4040, and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Sarah.
