Hi I have been called back for a 3d mammogram. Got a week to wait. I was told there is some thickening on my right breast. I am trying not to worry but I am really scared.

Hi rosebud
welcome
tey not to worry unless the dreaded is actually been said don't waste your good energy worrying .
I was told I had thickening , so I had a biopsy and utrasound same day I was told tgere and then it's highly suspicious then a week later it was confirmed, I hope this isn't the case for you , but in the meantime try to put it to back of your mind .
rhst was july for me I'm now finished and back to my normal life as it was before feeling better stronger than ever .
think positive good luck love Lara x
Hi Rosebud
The waiting is just awful. I suggest you try not to Google everything and imagine worst case scenarios. Stay busy and optimistic, skin thickening could be for something quite benign.
I hope you get the best results and can put this behind you.

Hello and thanks for your post,
I can understand how unsettling this must be for you but it is not unusual to be recalled for a mamogram if the pictures are not clear. Unfortunately no one can tell you any more until you see them again.
Breast Cancer Now explains some of the reasons why women have been recalled which you can see here
If they have seen a thickened area on your breast they may want to take more pictures from a different angle. Try not to overthink it for now. Don't be afraid to ask them questions when you go back so you can get more information about what they are looking at.
Keep yourself busy and your mind distracted until you go back.
You are of course more then welcome to ring and chat through any of this with one of the nurses on the helpline. We are here Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040.
All the Very Best,
Catherine
