Hi a year ago I had succesful treatment for stage 1a melanoma. All was well and I now have 3 monthly checks for the next 5 years. At my last skin check at the end of November the Doc said he saw a BCC on my back which they would remove. He said it was not melanoma and I was not to worry. The appointment for this is not till March. This worries me as my first lesion they did not think was melanoma but turned out to be just that. The Doc kept saying it was nothing to worry about but I am doing just that. I have tried to contact the skin cancer nurses to tell them of my concern but as yet they have not got back to me.
The Doc did explain that once you have had 1 type of skin cancer you might get another (although he said not melanoma!)
Am I overthinking this. My brother has had a bcc removed from his face and is fine.
Sorry to be a pain but it's worrying me.
Thank you for any input.
