Lump in thigh

Hi all,

I feel very odd posting on here but I think my anxiety has got the better of me! I am a father aged 26.

I have had a small lump on my mid inner thigh for ages now, went to the gp about a year or so ago and the dr examined it and said it was a lipoma. It doesn't seem to have grown but I am more aware of it now and it's stressing me out again.

the main reassuring factor is that it has been there for at least 12-18 months and there are no other symptoms.

Is it worth another trip to the gp? Does anybody else have similar?

thank in advance!

  • Hi there and thanks for the post

Most lumps and bumps found in the body are harmless and as you say one that has been there a while and hasn't changed is unlikely to be of concern.

If it is the same as when you last saw your GP and you aren't experiencing any symptoms then it is probably a lipoma like the doctor said. Unfortunately lipomas don't go away by themselves and only tend to be surgically removed for cosmetic reasons only.

If you remain worried do speak to your doctor.

    Best wishes
