Your picture was taken down because it contravenes our T's and C's and as a nurse I cannot tell you what is the matter. 

It sounds like you have had it for some time and your doctor is aware of it. While I cannot be sure it is possible to be a viral infection such as a verruca and they can take many months or even years to go. However, I cannot be sure of this so you must show it to your GP if you are concerned about it.

I think the best thing to do now is not to pick at it, leave it alone and see if it goes away by itself.  As I said go and see your GP again if you have to.
