  • Sorry I don't know why I thought it was tomorrow lets hope they sort it out quickly I hope he's feeling better by the time you see him on Friday ,its an ongoing worry until he's back at home and on the mend

  • When i look at him he isnt the Ronnie i know , his face is sunkan and greyish. Allsorts run through my mind and not good thaughts. I have felt lost today without him. We have never been away from each other. It is the first time i have kept my dressing gown on all day. I will have to pull myself out of it. Having said that i have been runing round for 2 week trying to keep thongs together as i have not lived at home. I have been living in a flat that is nearer the hospital as my house is 23 miles away. Know i am at home and it cost £80 return by taxi as i dont drive, there is only Ronnie and me so no one to help. Sylvia

  • With him having  covid on top of everything else he's sure to look ill he probably hasn't been eating well I know when I had it I couldn't eat for about 3 weeks ,depending on how long he's going to be in hospital it might be better to stay in the flat again like you say taxi's are very expensive ,but don't give up hope although I can understand how upsetting it is ,but once he gets over this bout of covid and starts eating again he should pick up ,try and get organised for Friday whilst you have a little rest from all that's been happening over the last few weeks ,recharge your batteries while you can .

  • I had to tell them Ronnie had covid so i was banned from going into the flat so i had to wait outside till my niece brought my things out of my room. I also had to have a covid test as if i had got it off Ronnie they would have had to fumigate the room. The block i was staying in for over 55 and they are classed as vunrable. So i had to get a taxi back to my house in Selby. My test was clear. So i am going to see Ronnie on Friday and get a taxi. The ward that Ronnie was in told me that they tested Ronnie on the 13th but i got an email from NHS saying the test was done on the 8th ?

  • Oh no what an awful time for you as if you didn't have enough to worry about those dates for Ronnie seem a bit mixed up sounds like they got their wires crossed .,anyway I hope he's feeling better than he was ,its weird going into hospital for something and ending up suffering with something picked up in there ,the Gentleman next door to us went into hospital before Christmas he's 83 he has problems with his heart anyway as soon as he was stablised his son took him out of the hospital because he was sure he would get covid in there they looked after him at their house until he could come back to his own house which was just last week ,he lives on his own it was lovely to see him back because his house was empty since before Christmas ,he seems to be doing well now ,I hope things go better for you and Ronnie on Friday don't forget to ask them questions while you're there so you know what's going to happen

    Jenny .

  • Just had a phone call from the hospital Ronnie is coming home tomorrow he still has the drainage from the kidney and has been put on a list to go in as a day case and have it removed and a stent put in. There going to bring him home so i dont have to go for him. Looks like there happy with the kidney function.

  • That's good news so good to hear he'll be back home tomorrow ,he must be feeling a lot better than he was over the last week or so ,fingers crossed for you both let us know how he gets on tomorrow .

  • The hospital phoned to say if there is no emergency tomorrow they will do Ronnie's procedure and maybe keep him in overnight just to monitor. Fingers crossed as I am full of cold and wouldn't want him home near me.
