I don't know anything about tamoxifen so I cannot comment on that.

However, I have experienced that type of bleeding in the past when I had a large polyp in the womb - I went to the GP after flooding like that a couple of times. I was given tablets to ease the bleeding and then had surgery to remove the polyp - it was benign, as I believe most are. I believe fibroids can also cause heavy episodes of bleeding - also usually benign. Both caused by hormones.

I know it won't ease the worry about your wife but just wanted to reassure you that there can be other causes. I hope you get good news on Friday

I can imagine that it must be unsettling for you both waiting to find out the cause of your wife's bleeding.

As Leni56 said on the forum her bleeding was caused by a benign non cancer polyp. Unfortunately no one can really give you the answers you are both looking for until you both get the results of the ultrasound. Try not to think too far ahead until you know more and don't try and look up the answers on google which is far too general and usually cause more worry.

There are other reasons for bleeding but it is also important that the doctors rule anything serious out such as cancer.
