Breast pain

Hi 

im just looking for some reassurance.

 

i have had breast pain in one specific area for 3 months. Lower left quadrant of left breast. I am on HRT. It  is only ever in that area - it can make my breast feel heavy and inflamed at times.  The breast tissue feels lumpy and my gp says that's normal - other than the one particular spot that is painful when touched. 
 

I've had a mammogram done today. In the meantime I'm just so worried and anxious.

    I am sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing and can appreciate this being a worry for you.

    Breast pain on it's own isn't strongly linked to breast cancer and can have a range of causes. Hormones or injury that causes pulled muscles and ligaments are often responsible but also rib pain. Other breast conditions seen here including cysts and fibroadenomas can also cause pain and discomfort.

    You have done the right thing getting it checked out. Hopefully you will know more soon and everything will be okay.

    Try not to over think things too much for now and rather distract your mind with other things, if you can.
