Large lump/bump but nothing on mri

Hi.

I have a relatively large lump on my lower inner thigh. The physical bulge that is elevated out of my leg feels very soft and squishy but once you push through that there is a large bulge/lump across my thigh muscle it feels like. It's about 4 fingers long.

it's getting bigger over the last few monthsand equally increasing in discomfort. None of the doctors seem to know what it is and I've had an ultrasound and MRI but hasn't shown anything. I just don't get what it is as you can clearly see and feel the lump but nothing showing up combined with the fact it's getting bigger.

has anyone had anything similar and can advise. Since mri didn't show much doctors don't seem too interested but it's worrying me and I just want an answer.

the pain is a sort of dull ache throughout my thigh and often get pins and needles in my foot.

thank you

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about this lump you have and appreciate it must be a worry.

Whilst I can understand you wanting some answers unfortunately no one on here can say what this lump may be.

Most lumps and bumps will have a harmless cause and if nothing has shown up on the MRI or ultrasound then it is unlikely to be anything to worry about.

Of course keep an eye on it and if it continues to change or you remain concerned do go back to see your doctor.

Other people may share similar stories but as there can be many different reasons for lumps the outcome for them may not be the same for you.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
