Lump in armpit awaiting breast clinic

Hi

I have had a lump in the left armpit for around 8 weeks, was prescribed antibiotics and a antibiotic cream - none responsive. Lump grew to 4cm and was referred to Breast clinic  last week - waiting appointment date ( 2ww).

returned to GP due to two 6mm lumps occurring in my left groin ( same side as lump in armpit). Dr requested bloods but couldn't find veins as they kept dropping, off back to GP Friday for bloods by a nurse.

Anyone have any experience of lump on armpit which was non responsive to antibiotics or similar experience?

thanks

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I can see why you are asking others about their situation to see if it could have some bearing on your own and you may have replies but you would be better off posting in another area (see them on the left side of the page) to get more people looking at your post. However doing this will not tell you what is the matter but may cause you undue worry.

I am afraid that we cannot tell you what is the matter but please do be reassured that your GP is doing a blood test and referring you to the breast team so that more about what is the matter can be known.  Remember that the symptoms of cancer are the same symptoms that cause less worrying health conditions.

I hope you have support at home and please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
