UPDATE 25/01/23 : following my FNA i was upgraded to a U4. i then got my results which indicated malignant cells. I had a partial thyroidectomy on 16th december. the surgeon said it looked "clean" and that my other side looked very healthy. I got my biopsy results on the 10th January. offical diagnosis is Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma with Tall Cell variant. I go in tomorrow to see my surgeon again as my case has now been seen at the MDT meeting today. Ill find out tomorrow if they advise a completioinl thyroidectomy and Radioiodine therapy. I would prefer to wach and wait, but will update you tomorrow.
Hi,
I have a U3 nodule of the left side of my thyroid which has just been biopsied via a FNA. That was on Tuesday. Since then I've been very tender and sore. It's now Thursday and it's still very tender especially when I swallow. I couldn't feel my nodule before, but now I can, like it's swollen. I've had a left sided headache since then too.
is this normal? How long does it take to subside? Or is it stress and I'm overthinking it.
it wasn't sore when it was being taken, just pressured and weird. But immediately painful after.
thank in advance xx.
