Hi ladies and gents.

But I have this hideous large button sized mass growing out the heel of my foot. Tbh, I want to tear it off. But my god it hurts.

  • Hi Joyoted and thanks for posting.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mum.  It sounds like you are having a worrying time at the moment.

You mentioned eccrine poromas, which are benign lumps that can appear on the feet.  Very rarely they can develop into a cancer, which is treated with surgery. Other people may comment on this post who have had treatment for them.  There is some more information here about this condition.

You don't mention whether you have seen your GP about the mass on the heel of your foot.  As you say that the condition is not yet diagnosed, I wonder if you haven't.  It would be a good idea to make an appointment with them, so they are able to examine you.

They will then be able to make a plan with you about what happens next.

It can be very worrying when we notice a change on our bodies, and speaking to our health care team about these changes can help provide answers.  I cannot tell you not to worry about the mass on your heel, but lumps can be caused by lots of different things and most of the time won't be anything as serious as cancer, so try not to over think this too much.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.

You might like to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  You can call on Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

Take care and I hope this has been helpful.

    Rachel
