I am sorry to hear about your recent cancer treatments and the tummy troubles you are currently having.

Unfortunately no one on here can say what the matter may be as there could be a range of reasons for this.

It would be unusual to get diarrhoea as a late side effect of chemotherapy so long after finishing the treatment or as a result of breast surgery.

It is good to hear you have spoken to your oncologist about this. Undergoing treatment can be a very stressful and anxious time and I don't know if you have ever suffered ibs here ( irritable bowel syndrome) before being diagnosed but this could have been triggered with everything you have gone through.

If on the other hand this has come out of the blue and everything was normal previously then it may be worth talking things through with your GP, they may wish to carry out some stool tests to rule out possible infection and can advise you on other things to try and manage the situation.

Some patients understandably wish to change their diet and eating habits following treatment but again for some when increasing fibre such as fruit and vegetables and whole grains this could affect the bowel movements making them more frequent and looser.

I really hope things improve soon but do talk with your GP or breast care nurse to see if a stool sample can be sent to rule anything else going on.
