  • Hello Chazz92 and thanks for posting,

I am sorry to learn about this persistent sore throat and how worried you are about it. I'm afraid no one here on Cancer Chat can diagnose (say what might be the cause of someone's symptoms). I can appreciate that any unexplained symptoms can cause anxiety, but most of the time nothing as serious as cancer is going on and especially in younger people.  Do your best to keep an open mind for now. I hope you get the results from the scan and know more soon.

I think it would be a good idea to talk to your GP to check that your ear infection has cleared up before your flight.

Anxiety is a challenging thing to cope with, it may help to look at the MIND website at this link and the NHS Every Mind Matters website.

If you want to talk anything over give us a ring on Freephone 0808 800 4040, we are around weekdays from 9-5.

    Best wishes,

    Julia

  • I had my neck scan and my results were clear for thyroid and everything external, I'm waiting for councilling it's 3 month wait :/ it's almost 4 months now and still 13 month wait for ent I'm not sure what to do , I'm always in pain it never goes away , my gp said she dosent know what it is, neither did any other drs really or atleast a diagnosis that sticks or antibiotics that make it go away completely:/ I'm not sure what to do

  • Hello again and thanks for the update

It is good news that nothing abnormal showed up on the scan but I can understand that still having symptoms must be unsettling for you.

Do keep talking to people about how this is making you feel and hope you soon get the support you need at this time.

As we have said previously let your doctor know if you notice any further changes or your symptoms worsen.

    Take care

    Naomi
