Breast lump

Hi

i have a lump in my right breast. It cannot be felt easily when lying down but is prominent when standing. I have had a mammogram and ultrasound which were clear. My mum had triple negative breast cancer and her lump did not show up on MRI mammogram or ultrasound. The consultant did a core biopsy but not in the area the lump is which confused me. I'm really worried now and would have felt a lot better if the lump I have had actually been biopsied. What should I do?

I woykd of thought that the mammogram and ultrasound would of determined shape or image if there were any nasties and they would have done a biopsy if it looked suspicious.
but I do understand your concern about your mum , hope your mum is ok xx

    take care love Lara x

  • Hello Em193998 and thanks for posting,

I think you probably need to talk to the consultant/breast clinic and explain you concerns. If you haven't been discharged from the clinic yet you might be able to give them a call and speak to someone or get an appointment, otherwise I think your GP may need to re-refer you.

I hope you can get some peace of mind about this lump.

Feel free to give us a ring if you want to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes,

    Julia
