Infection after lletz help !!

Hi guys, let me explain what's been going on. I had a biopsy after my smear came back with CIN3 had my lletz trearmwnt. I recently go my results back with CIN1 it's very confusing and the gyny don't really know either so I'm awaiting to hear what will happen next has any one experienced this before ? I caught a infection 2 days after treatment took a course of antibiotics and that cleared then had a period a week later and all good. A week ago now 3 weeks after treatment I noticed a sharp pain in my lower left and it's now gotten worst my vagina feel like it's dragging and I have a white watery discharge but my whole inner legs hurts. I went to the go yesterday and I'm waiting results of my swabs. The doctor said it could be thrush but I really don't think so ! Anyone experienced this all all.

  • Hello Amarie1994 and thanks for posting,

I am sorry to learn that you have had problems since your LLETZ procedure. I don't know what might be causing this leg pain and the dragging sensation and am pleased you have already seen your GP.  I think it would be a good idea to get back in touch with them if this has got worse. It can be hard to tell sometimes if new symptoms are related to a recent procedure or might have happened anyway, but it seems likely that there is a link. I hope the swab results come back soon and that things improve for you.

Mostly, the results of the tissue examination after a LLETZ confirm the colposcopist's impression and broadly match what the cell sample from the smear/brush looked like in terms of abnormality. Strictly speaking CIN can only be accurately assessed with a tissue biopsy, this is because it measures the depth of the abnormal cells - a cross section of tissue is needed to be able to do this. I have heard of this sort of discrepancy happening before but it isn't all that common. Hopefully this will be reviewed and your gynae will be able to explain a bit more soon.
