I'm afraid we can't say what might be the matter (diagnose) as we are not involved in your husband's care. I'm not sure if the nurse or consultant discussed their findings with you both. If not, then they might want to wait until your husband has the CT scan. 

Waiting  to find out more is very stressful, and it's natural to feel scared. But I’m afraid until the results are known no one can tell you anymore for now. Easier said than done, but try to take it one step at a time.
