Approaching the 7th day since my op, I'm wondering if I should go ahead and soak the dressing in the shower and peel off as the nurse suggested , or wait a few more days? Bit apprehensive as can be imagined. Your suggestions are most welcome.

I would book an appointment with the surgery to see a nurse
I had my op a month ago. I left my dressing on for about 10 days as I figured there was no harm in leaving it except for the pain of not getting it wet. I suspect it will peal off without too much trouble. If the wound has not fully healed and dry make sure you have a dressing to stick pack on to protect it. If worried about taking it off then make an appointment with your GP practice nurse. Hope this helps.
Thank you , yes it does. I'm looking forward to being able to have showers again but also OK with waiting another few days.
I have replacement dressings just in case.
I think that I will call my BCN for guidance since the local GP practice is almost impossible to contact.
Hello
I am sorry it has taken a little while for us to respond to you, but I think the best decision is to folw the instructions you were given when you were discharged from hospital and if in doubt contact the Breast Care Nurse as you have decided. I hope everything continues to heal well.
