Waiting for results is often a worrying time and a lot of people contact us to ask how long should they have to wait for them to come through. .

Biopsy results usually take 2 to 6 weeks. But biopsy waiting times in the NHS can vary depending on the workload and staffing in local laboratories but I'm afraid we don't know exactly what is happening at a local level.  So I can't tell you when you can expect to hear from the hospital, but you can try giving them a ring again to see what you can find out.

If you don't hear anything by next week it might be worth discussing this with the PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) at your hospital to ask them to look in this for you. Their contact details are here.
