Will breast clinic check skin problem on breast?

Hi everyone, I  have been referred to the breast clinic under the two week wait scheme (although I've been advised it might be longer due to lack of appointments) due to GP finding a breast lump he wants me to have checked. I forgot to mention to him that the spot/blister I have on my breast (same one with lump) has been there for over 8 weeks and won't heal. I've spoken to a family member and showed them and they said it looks suspicious because it's like a shiny blister and obviously because of the fact that it hasn't healed. Should I go back to the GP or will they be able to look at that at the breast clinic does anybody know?

  • Hi there,

I would think the breast clinic would absolutely take a look at the sore on your breast. It could be connected to the lump, but you will have the chance to mention it to the doctor who examines you anyway.

    Good luck x

I would definitely get the blister checked especially if you have a lump also .your GP should refer you

Then at least you can rule out anything xx

the breast clinic are amazing xx

  • Hello and thanks for your post

The specialist at the breast clinic will assess you and this will involve doing a physical examination of your breast, so they should also be able to check the blister on your breast.

The organisation Breast Cancer Now has information on what to expect when you’ve been referred to a breast clinic and you can read this information by clicking here.

I hope you know more about your situation soon and that everything turns out to be okay.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
