10 months post LLETZ

I'm now almost 11 months post LLETZ under GA for CIN3.

Since surgery I've experienced pain during sex but no issues with bleeding, abnormal discharge etc. I've had a repeat smear (slightly before 12 months) and found it extremely painful which is not something I have previously experienced. 
 

The nurse said that my cervix looked as though it was still healing from the surgery however this isn't something I expected almost a year following the procedure.

 

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

    Unfortunately some women do experience some side effects from the LLETZ procedure that can last longer than expected.

    Pain during or after sex affects about a 3rd of people having LLETZ and for the majority this settles within 3 months. However there are a group of people who are still experiencing pain up to 12 months or beyond. There is more information about this here.

    Try not to over think things and wait and see what the cervical sample comes back with. Do talk through any concerns you have or the symptoms you are having with your GP or practice nurse.
