Biopsy results

So four weeks ago I had four biopsies during a oral endoscopy, two in my stomach to Check for h pylori bacteria as stomach wide erosion and lesions where  found and a initial diagnosis of gastritis and duodenitis was made and two others for a raised anomalous area in esophageal Junction one sample taken at the tip and base of the area... I still haven't heard anything back I do t know whether to class it as no news is good news ... At this point I wouldn't care less if it was cancer I'm not scared of that,my fear lies in the unknown... For me it's how can I deal with the unknown uncertainty drives me crazy.... Waiting is an absolute killer and my consultant and his secretary are like Fort knox to get in touch with, any suggestions on what to do..... My gp say they cant do anything more for the worsening symptoms until my consultant sends paper work with instructions on how to treat me so now im in painful limbo.... Any suggestions on what I should do?

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Unfortunately, it is a question of waiting a bit longer. You should hear soon. There is a backlog and shortage of pathologists in some areas, which is causing a longer delay with results. I am sure that you will hear as soon as they are available.

Waiting for results is never easy, for anyone. Try and keep yourself busy and occupied, and use the support of friends and family.

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
