Bleeding 10 years post menopause

Hi everyone I'm looking for some advice/words of wisdom. I'm 54 and 10 years post menopuase having had chemo for triple negative BC in 2011. Started bleeding heavily on the weekend - no signs of stopping. I'm taking Tibilone HRT, have been for the last 9 years and am so worried - this isn't normal!! My mind is taking me to the darkest of places. Has anyone else ever experienced this so many years after their last period? Thank you.

  • Hi there

I had PMB 18 years after my last period . Very heavy for a week then spotting .
I have had a Hysterscopy and nothing could be found . Everything was absolutely fine .
I had all the signs of a period , back ache, period pains , pains in my legs but all looked normal .
I can understand how you feel as I was terrified it was something sinister .
I hope you get some answers soon . Do you have an appointment booked

    take care

    Lisa

  • Hello and thank you for posting.

I'm sorry you are having a problem with bleeding, but I don't know if it is anything sinister.

Anyone noticing anything that is new or unusual for them that they are concerned about, should get checked by a doctor. Your GP is the only person who can assess you and decide if anything needs further investigation. I've posted here a link to post menopausal bleeding from the NHS website.

Take care and hopefully you will know more soon.

    Sarah.

  • Hi thank you so much for replying. Always a worrying time when things 'aren't right'. Thankfully I have an appointment to see a gynaecologist next Monday so hopefully will discuss next steps then. Im so pleased your bleeding turned out to be nothing sinister x

  • Hi there, thank you so much for replying to my post. Appointment booked with a gynaecologist next Monday. Thanks for posting the link to the NHS site, very helpful
