I had a lumpectomy 12weeks ago. I have been told I need radium and tablets. Still not had appointment to start treatment. Is this normal. Worried that it's to long and cancer will come back
I would get in touch with the your breast care nurse or your specialist team so you can get an idea about timings.
It is best to discuss this with your specialist who has all your medical records. The doctors will take into account the stage and grade of your cancer and whether any lymph nodes were involved.
Remember you have had the cancer removed when you had the lumpectomy and the radiotherapy and hormone therapy is in addition to the treatment that you have already had.
