Terrified

Currently freaking out..... I had a c section 2 months ago, everything was fine, recovery was fine. The last few days I've been having bad pelvic pain, pain in my upper legs, and when I woke this morning I found some blood in my knickers (which has seemed to have passed) I've been Googling (I know I shouldn't) and saw that trouble urinating is also a symptom, I realised I've actually had trouble urinarting since my c section. I'm freaking out as I don't know wether these symptoms are due to my body healing after c section or something more sinister. I'm up to date with my smears, actually have my next one on Wednesday. Just some words of encouragement might help. Thanks x

  • I'm not sure if you've had a c section due to cancer or just one in general.   Either way you should speak to your surgery or the McMillan nurses.  I've had two C sections and recovering is hard but don't ignore this pain and bleeding, call them tomorrow and put your mind at rest.  Let us know how it goes.  Good luck, Carol

  • Hello there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you are having and appreciate the alarm they can cause but try not to over think things.

There are always many different reasons for symptoms and thankfully most won't be linked to cancer. It is however important when symptoms do occur and they don't go away or get worse to get them checked out by your doctor, just to be on the safe side and also in the case of infection they need treatment.

It is still early days since your operation and having your baby so it could still be related to this but likewise you may have an infection that needs treating so do contact your surgery to make an appointment to talk this through.

It's good you are up to date with your cervical screening and have one booked for next week. During this test the nurse or doctor will also be able to view your cervix to check everything looks okay and nothing else is going on.

I hope everything goes well for you and things improve quickly.

    All the best

    Naomi
