After biopsy and ultrasound (but no results yet), I've had an appointment made for me with the Gynaecological Oncology team. Is it appropriate for me to assume that I have cancer???

Hello phillip5.
No, do not presume you will be told that you have cancer. If you are not then there might be a concern that you could be at an increased risk of developing it (if you have abnormal cells that are not cancer in your biopsy) Or you may be told that your biopsy result does not show abnormal cells or cancer.
I'm afraid it's not possible to know what will happen so you will have to wait to be seen, which I know can be difficult.
I hope you have some support while you are waiting to find out more.
Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Take care,
