First smear test results abnormal

Hi I had my first smear test a few week ago I am 24. Got my results back this weekend and they came back abnormal. Positive HPV & low grade dyskaryosis came back on my results. Not what I was expecting as this was my first ever smear test scared and not really sure what it all means. Thinking about ringing doctors for a chat Monday. Has anyone else been in the same situation and had their colposcopy examination and results? my coloscopy isn't for another 6 weeks :( any replies would be appreciated x

    omg i'm so glad i'm not alone, had my first smear 31st of october. i am also 24, results came back today. hpv positive, abnormal cells and borderline changes in my cervix. literally felt like crying my eyes out at work!!

    my colposcopy is booked in for 22nd december so it's coming around quickly.. please let us know your results, but honestly has put my mind at ease that you found it fine!

    hi, just to say that i had this procedure and abnormal cells removed, more than 30 years ago (i was early 20's also). never had any further abnormal smears at all.  prevention like this really does work, well worth having it done, good luck.
