Calprotectin level of

Hi just wondering weather any one has been or is in this situation? 
 

I had my second child via c section all my problems started then 

I started to get constipated and then having urgency to go the toilet with lose bowels and blood and then I started to get brown mucus after every bowel movement stomach cramps back ache so I went the doctors he sent of stool sample it come back abnormal at 157 all though not to high he said still not the normal levels it should be so I have to repeat test in 2 weeks time anyway all my symptoms disappeared for 2 months or so but now it back the stomach cramps brown mucus urgency every Morning I wake up I have urgency and cramps until I have been Spoke to my GP I have had to do another sample to see what the calprotectin levels are like this time I did get referred to have a colonoscopy but cos I'm currently pregnant they won't do a nothing cos there is risks they said with misscarges etc 

So I'll have to wait now just wish I new what was happening never ever suffered with my bowels before just since I've had my son it's all just started 

I know no one can diagnose me on here and I'm not here for that just seeing if anyone else has had abnormal calprotectin tests and it's not been too serious 
 

my doctor did say to me he thinks it's some form of IBD but again can't be 100% as the scope can only tell me that

    Hopefully others will pop on here and share their stories with you but do bear in mind symptoms and abnormal test results can be caused by so many different things and most won't be cancer. 

    I think for now you need to try and trust your doctors judgement but of course let them or your midwife know about any further problems you may be having so they can assess you.

    As your GP has already said calprotectin levels are often raised in inflammatory bowel disease so hopefully something like irritable bowel syndrome is causing the change in your bowel habits.

    It is my understanding that whilst a colonoscopy can be risky in pregnancy and cause early onset of labour or miscarriage these risks for each person need to be weighed up. If the symptoms continue or worsen, I am sure the doctors will re consider the colonoscopy to find out what is going on but I think they would rather this be in the 2nd or 3rd trimester.

    Hi thank you for replying to my post I am 5 months pregnant so I'm gonna see if they can do a colonoscopy sooner I hope they do I keep having bad stomach cramps so much now 

    Yeah my GP did say calprotectin levels is found in people with chrons / colits ect

    Hello did they do the colonoscopy when you was pregnant? I need one GP referred me and the consultant refused x

    Hi no they refused me too I have to have one in January once I've had my baby but be probs more feb as I'm having a c section so I'll have to be healed properly before I have the colonoscopy x
