Pea sized lump on labia minora

Last year, a hard, pea-sized lump that does not move appeared on my labia minora, at first I thought it could be a cyst and didn't think anymore of it. However it is has been a year now and it hasn't gone. And for 10 months, my menstural cycle has been all over the place, they were once completely regular and always on time, now they are irregular, I am sometimes 10+ days late and have even skipped a whole month on 2 occasions. And instead of lasting 3-5 days, they now continue for 10-12 days which is obviously much longer than I had ever been used to. I have bleeding in between periods and when I was sexually active last year, bleeding after intercourse. I have an appointment booked with my gp for next month but in the mean time wondered if anybody had experienced similar?

  • Hello there

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you have been having and hope you know more soon. It is good to hear you have arranged to see your GP and they are in the best position to assess you and arrange further tests as needed.

Symptoms can be caused by lots of different things and most thankfully won't be the result of something serious. However it is best to get them checked out when they aren't resolving or are worsening just to be sure.

There can be several explanations irregular bleeding that you can read more about here.

Whilst people may experience similar changes in their body to someone else the outcome are often very different so it is impossible to compare stories.

I hope everything works out okay and you know more soon.

    Take care

    Naomi
