Breast Pain after Biopsy

Hi, I'm new here so i hope i have the right forum :)

I'm 29 and have had 3x non cancerous lumps removed from my right breast from the age of 21 (2x Fibroedenoma, 1x cyst). I went back to the GP in November 2021 as i found another lump around the same area where i had my most recent surgery.

I had a biopsy done but the lump was so slippery and my breast was tense that it took them 45 mins to get one sample. Pressed down on my breast that much to hold the lump in place its caused damage to the tissue and chest muscle :( Its another fibrodenoma again and is 9mm so it wont be removed.

Its now August 2022 and the lump is still there, its feels flatter but slightly bigger and the pain hasn't gone away. It gets worse everytime my period is due and its concerning me. The doctors have said the pain is muscle damage but im scared its something worse.

What should i do?  Or any recommendations to help with the pain?

  • Hello and thank you for posting.

I am sorry you are going through all this stress, but unfortunately I'm not sure I am going to be able to help.

Your GP is the only person who can examine you and decide whether you need further investigations or prescribe medications to help if needed. Give them a call and organise an appointment to explain your current symptoms and your discomfort. Also you can take over the counter painkillers regularly and tell the GP if they are helpful. Maybe you could contact the team you were under at the hospital if you still have a contact and speak to them too.

Ive placed a link here to help with your GP appointment, and here I have placed a link to information on fibroadenomas in case it's useful.

Take care, and I hope you you get more information soon.

    Sarah.
