Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. The problem is that they don't know as everyone is different. I was told my husband had about three months which I questioned at the time as he was so ill. But it is not easy as some patients seem at deaths door and then rally for a few more weeks. I'm sorry not to be more helpful. Carol
I am very sorry to hear about your dad, this must have been a very difficult thing to hear.
Prognosis (how long some one has got) is almost impossible to accurately predict. Doctors and nurses are basing their information on other patients who have been in a similar situation. A lot will depend on your dad and his general health and where his cancer is and the affect that it is having on the different organs in his body.
It is therefore very difficult for them to be too specific as to how many months this means. As time goes on they may be able to tell you more.

I do hope that you are managing to get support from friends and other members of the family. It is important that you are able to look after yourself as well.
